In October 2006, Craig Bailey established Random Precision Media (RPM) in Winooski, Vt., as a "one-stop shop" to handle a variety of design needs for small businesses and non-profit organizations.

Craig brings more than two decades of experience in print, broadcast and "new" media to the business.

While his background is diverse, RPM specializes in database-driven Web development with an emphasis on creating specialized content management systems that give clients the power to update their sites simply and securely from any Net-connected computer in the world.

Log on

Craig got his first taste of the online world in 1986, when he logged onto Quantum Link, an early online service and predecessor to Internet bohemoth AOL.

He began developing Web sites as a hobby in 1994. It didn't take long before his employer found a place for his design skills in the workplace, where Craig was working as writer and editor of Modem Operandi, a magazine devoted to, what else, the Internet.

Graphic design and Web development became his full-time occupation when he joined Vermont Housing Finance Agency in 2000.

During his time at the agency, he's developed several housing-related sites including Vermont Housing Data, recipient of a National Council of State Housing Agencies award for technical innovation.

Craig's also been involved in broadcast media throughout his career as a radio personality, copywriter and production director. For more than a decade he's produced "Floydian Slip," his weekly Pink Floyd program, for Classic Rock Champ in Burlington, Vt.

The "Floydian Slip" Web site has been online just as long. Serving 800 visitors every day, "Floydian Slip" is one of the most popular and longest-running sites devoted to the band.

As a result, Craig's found himself acting as an expert source to media as diverse as The Dallas Morning News, The Ottawa Citizen and VH1.

In 2006, he wrote the foreword to "Speak to Me: The Legacy of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon" (Ashgate Publishing, ISBN 0754640191).

An enthusiastic Macintosh fan, photographer, published playwright and part-time actor, Craig holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications earned at Ithaca College, Ithaca, N.Y., in 1989.

A native of Berlin, Vt., he's lived in the Burlington area since 1991.
